Hello! I’m Birgitt.

I’m a non-traditional documentary wedding photographer. My style lives somewhere between photojournalistic, artful, and timeless. Fun, honest and unscripted.

​

I was that kid who never went anywhere without a camera. Even though I was completely obsessed with photography, I never really believed I could make a living from it. So I studied Journalism in Ghent. But the itch to keep photographing never went away, which eventually led me to study Photography in Brussels as well. At the time, I fell in love with street photography, capturing people and fleeting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

When I photographed my first wedding in 2018, something clicked. The beautiful chaos of it gave me so much energy. I finally found a way to photograph everything I love at once: the big, emotional moments and the quiet, fleeting ones in between.

 

I photographed weddings alongside my full-time job for years, and in 2024 I finally took the leap and went all in. And the rest is history.

Today I get to photograph people in love for a living, meeting incredible humans and traveling to the most unexpected places. I’ll never take any of this for granted, and I still can’t quite believe I get to call this my job.
